Are you committed to your goals?

It is when you are committed that the universe
supports you 100%. Most people make goals and
then when one little thing gets them off track,
they give up. Commitment is essential in achieving
whatever it is you desire.

My best friend Dawn and I were having a discussion
when we were in St. Martin this past summer.

I always ask couples that have been together for a long period
of time, "What is the secret to a successful relationship?"

I am amazed at how many answers I receive.

As a matter of fact two guys set out to find the answer
to this question in their book Project Everlasting.
I asked Dawn what she thought and I thought it was the
most brilliant response that I ever heard. I actually felt
my consciousness expand when she answered the question.
She thought that the secret to a successful relationship
is both people having the willingness to do what ever
it takes to make the relationship work. When one person
in the relationship gives up, or loses the desire to
make it work, then it fails. That is exactly what
commitment is. Webster's dictionary defines commitment
"To devote oneself unreservedly".

You give 100% to whatever it is that you want in your life.

The people that have had the greatest success
achieved what they have because they were committed.

A CNN executive personally pulled Katie Couric off the air
and told her she had no future in television. She went on to
become co-host of NBC's program The Today Show and
earns an estimated $10 million a year salary.

Randy Travis was rejected by almost every record company in Nashville.

Ray Charles was told by teachers that he couldn't play the piano.

Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen created the
#1 best-selling book series, Chicken Soup for the
Soul after being rejected by publishers 144 times.

What all of these people had in common was they
stayed true to their intention, were committed,
and took action toward their dreams.
